What is chlorella?
Native to Taiwan and Japan, chlorella is a single-celled green microalgae rich in beta-carotene, B vitamins, potassium, phosphorus, biotin, magnesium, and omega-3 fatty acids. Chlorella powder has a number of minerals and sixteen grams of protein in three tablespoons, or roughly one ounce. The recommended daily allowance (RDA) contains the following minerals in the following proportions: magnesium 22%, vitamin B2 71%, iron 202%, zinc 133%, and vitamin A 287%.

What is spirulina?
Similar to chlorella, spirulina is also a single-cell green microalgae (blue-green variety) with a high protein content (higher than chlorella). It is said to have detoxifying effects. Iron, magnesium, copper, omega-3 fatty acids, and numerous B vitamins are also abundant in it. It is praised by some, who refer to it as "the most nutritious food on earth."
Taking spirulina and chlorella has numerous advantages, such as the following.
1. Eliminate the toxicity of heavy metals and radiation
Chlorella can attach to toxic elements in the body like cadmium, lead, mercury and uranium, preventing them from being absorbed by the body. These contaminations come from many sources in life, such as food (fish), mercury fillings used by dentists, contaminated air and water, paint, vaccinations, etc. The chlorophyll in chlorella also protects against damage caused by ultraviolet radiation. Taking some chlorella regularly can avoid the accumulation of heavy metal toxins in the body and remove radiation pollution.
2. Promote gastrointestinal health and digestion
Both spirulina and chlorella aid digestion and benefit the microbial environment in your intestines. A healthy gastrointestinal environment, in turn, promotes immune system function.
3. Enhance immune function
Chlorella has been shown in a 2012 study that was published in the Nutrition Journal to help fortify immune system cells. Another study, which was published in December 1990 in Phytotherapy Research, found that patients with brain tumors who took chlorella had a significant reduction in their symptoms of colds and respiratory infections compared to those who did not.
4. Postpone getting older
Who wouldn't want to delay getting older? Spirulina's carotenoids and superoxide dismutase (SOD) contribute to skin maintenance by lowering the risk of eczema, acne, rashes, and age spots.
5. Helps lose weight
Chlorella can help with weight loss in many ways, such as controlling hormone secretion, improving blood circulation, increasing body energy levels, reducing body fat, detoxifying and improving metabolism. A 2008 study published in the Journal of Medicinal Food found that adults and those with unhealthy lifestyles experienced "a significant reduction in body fat percentage" after taking chlorella supplements.
6. As a plant-based protein alternative Spirulina and chlorella are good sources of complete protein, better than red meat and most plant proteins. Beef contains 22% complete protein, lentils contain 26%, while spirulina contains 65% to 71% protein and chlorella contains 58% protein.
7. Maintain cardiovascular health Spirulina has a special cell structure composed of glycosaminoglycans (mucopolysaccharides) that is easily digested, so the algae can reduce triglyceride and cholesterol levels, thereby supporting cardiovascular health. A 2016 study published in the European Review for Medical and Pharmacological Sciences revealed that after overweight and high blood pressure adults took spirulina daily for three months, their blood pressure, endothelium, and endothelium decreased. Function and body mass index (BMI) were improved, which had a positive effect on cardiovascular health.
