Glutathione, a whitening agent that can delay aging

Glutathione can help maintain normal immune system function, and has antioxidant and integrated detoxification effects. It can not only be used in medicine, but also as a base material for functional foods. It is widely used in functional foods such as delaying aging, enhancing immunity, and anti-tumor.

At present, artificial glutathione drugs have been developed and widely used in clinical practice. In addition to using its thiol group to chelate heavy metals, fluoride, mustard gas and other toxins, it is also used in hepatitis, hemolytic diseases, keratitis, cataracts and retinal diseases as auxiliary treatment drugs.

Glutathione effects and functions

Whitening effect. Melanocytes are roughly located in the basal layer of the human epidermis. When the skin is exposed to ultraviolet rays, melanocytes will secrete melanin.

Glutathione can interfere with the synthesis of melanin, and its mechanisms mainly include: glutathione can directly inhibit the activity of tyrosinase; interfere with the cell transfer of tyrosinase to premelanosomes; the inhibition of tyrosinase is indirectly achieved through its antioxidant effect.

Antioxidant effect. The aging process of an organism is the result of the accumulation of free radicals continuously produced by the tissue cells of the body. Glutathione exists in reduced form (GSH) and oxidized form (GSSG).

Glutathione has a strong antioxidant capacity and has been shown to remove reactive oxygen species produced in epidermal cells induced by ultraviolet radiation.

Anti-aging effect. Reactive oxygen species can act on proteins, such as directly hydrolyzing collagen peptide chains or causing peptide chains to break directly from the α-carbon atom. Glutathione can remove free radicals and prevent protein oxidation.

Listen to what the experts say

Glutathione is a tripeptide composed of three amino acids: glutamic acid, cystine and glycine. It is a very important amino acid for the normal metabolism of our human body.

It participates in the redox reaction of our human body, so it is very important for the detoxification function, the metabolism of glycolipids and proteins, and the metabolism of our human body.

There is one kind of glutathione called endogenous, which is the tripeptide composed of the three amino acids we just talked about, and there is also an exogenous one.

When the glutathione in our body is not enough, we give exogenous glutathione to play the role of protecting cell membranes, removing oxygen free radicals, promoting metabolism, and stabilizing the body's metabolic organs.

Therefore, glutathione is a very important endogenous amino acid in our human body. Of course, when it is not enough, we can supplement exogenous, which can help us to protect the liver cell membrane and protect the liver.
